Welcome to Salado Leather! I'm Paul Habermehl, founder and craftsman behind every piece you see here.  My motivation for leathercraft is to create something real—something with character that stands the test of time.

Our philosophy is straightforward: use the best materials, and build things the right way.

The Materials:

We start with premium, full-grain leather, tough and character-rich. It’s the kind of leather that doesn’t wear out; it wears in, telling a new story with every scratch and patina it develops over the years. We don't use faux leather, PU leather, which is essentially plastic. We utilize the best hardware to enhance both durability and aesthetics. 

The Craft:

I make my items in small batches, not rushing the process so that each piece is the best I can make it. This isn't an assembly line. It's a craft. It means every stitch is deliberate, every edge is finished with care, and every product is one I'm proud to put my name on.
